The Kuvasz is a Hungarian breed of flock guardian dog. Mention of the breed can be found in old Hungarian texts. They have historically been royal guard dogs, or guarded livestock, but have been increasingly found in homes as pets over the last seventy years.

Two types. The AKC and the KC/FCI standards describe a different-sized Kuvasz, so Kintail bands your dog against the one your region follows — set it in Settings. KC/FCI type: males 48–62 kg at 71–76 cm, females 37–50 kg at 66–70 cm. AKC type: males 45.4–52.2 kg at 71.1–76.2 cm, females 31.8–40.8 kg at 66–71.1 cm.
